The towns of Hermanus, Kleinmond, Betty’s Bay, Pringle Bay, and Rooiels are all on the coast, offering great beachfront running opportunities. Hermanus boasts a beautiful 12 km cliff path starting from the New Harbour in the west to the mouth of the Klein River in the east. Kleinmond has a coastal path beginning at the main beach, extending all the way to the Palmiet caravan park.
Betty’s Bay, Pringle Bay, and Rooiels provide various beach running opportunities, including the sea farm route from Park Road in Betty’s Bay to the Pringle Bay lighthouse.
As part of the Kogelberg biosphere, the Hangklip region offers multiple mountain trails ranging from 6 km to 24 km, catering to trail runners of all levels. The Hangklip Athletics Club is a Boland Athletics-affiliated club with road and trail runners, as well as walkers, among its members.
The club meets three afternoons a week for social runs: Mondays in Kleinmond, Tuesdays in Betty’s Bay, and Thursdays in Pringle Bay. For more information on these runs and other club events, please visit the Hangklip Athletics Club website
